The Bees Knees link party – 001
Hello and welcome to the first weekend link party for Queen Bee of Honey Dos. I plan to have a party like this each week until…. well, I haven’t decided on that just yet. I guess we will see how things go, but I imagine this will last at least for the next year. If all goes well, I will continue to host this party for as long as you all continue to join it. 🙂
If you have already attended other link parties, and you know how all of this works, you may skip ahead to the rules now. If you are new to link parties, let me explain how they work.
You probably already know that what bloggers need is traffic to their blog. And you probably already know that part of a blogger’s google rank is based on link backs. So, here is the premiss behind a link party.
What it does for you
You add a link to a post on my blog → My viewers see and hopefully click the link → You get more traffic to your blog and add to your link backs.
What it does for me
You place a link to my blog on your post → Your viewers see and hopefully visit my blog → I increase my traffic and back links.
In addition to that, each week, I will showcase at least one (maybe a few) link from the previous weeks link party. It may be a link that inspired me, a seasonal post, or something that I just haven’t seen before. So, a few lucky people will receive a feature.
Now, a common question that I get is, “but how do I add a link back for this blog to my post?” Well, what I like to do when I provide a link back for a party that I visited is:
- Go to my post that I plan to add to the link party.
- In edit mode, scroll to the bottom and add something like
(I partied at [insert blog’s link here] with this post.) or (This post also appeared at [insert blog’s link here])
Some people prefer to just insert a badge on their post or a combination of a badge and the text from above. It’s really up to you how you want the link to appear. But if you want a badge for your post, I have included the code below. Just copy and paste it into the html or text tab (depending on your platform) of your post. FYI: This shows how my badge will appear .
- Then I copy the permalink to the post that I want to add to the party.
Return to the party and add my link. And that’s it!
Now since this is my very first link party, obviously there are no previous links which I can feature. So, just to give an idea to everyone of what I will be doing in the future, I am including a feature of a few of my recent party posts. Plus, I must admit that I don’t mind the extra exposure. 😉
Please, take a few moments to read over the rules. Remember that this is a family friendly site. So, I reserve the right to delete any link that I deem to be inappropriate or a violation of the rules. Also, by joining my party, you are giving me the right to use your image on my blog or social media sites, in the event that I choose you for next weeks feature. (Proper credit and links will be given).
So, here are the rules:
- Link must belong to you. Please do not use a link from someone else’s blog or website.
- You must provide a link back to my homepage (www.queenbeeofhoneydos.com) on your blog. You can create a link yourself within the post, or you may grab my badge code below, and paste that in your blog.
- No more than 4 (per blog) links each week, please.
- Please take the time to view at least two of the links listed above your own. The idea is to draw viewers back to your link. So, please be kind and reciprocate.
- No inappropriate material. Please, keep it clean!
- No links to giveaways, stores, or sale items, please.
Although not a rule, I would love to have you subscribe or follow me on one of my social sites. Good luck and happy linking!
