I thought that this week, I would show you how to make wooden stars from scrap wood. Wooden stars are the perfect accent piece for bookshelves because you can use them any time of the year. And since we are using scrap wood to make them, you can make one for every holiday or season.
This year I am joining up with Remodelaholic and 21 other bloggers for the Remodelaholic Creative Christmas Challenge! And as my contribution to the challenge, I have created a reversible interchangeable DIY easel.
To challenge myself, I wanted to make something that a lot of people want, but add a spin to it – hence the reversible/interchangeable part. However, I didn’t stop there, I decided to also make this with no power tools. Yes, you heard me right! Absolutely no power tools.
This year, I have been making a lot of my own Christmas decorations. I wanted to have a good mix of neutral farmhouse decorations to go with my champaign gold theme. In particular, I wanted to find some wooden stars in a neutral finish. Well naturally, I am not likely to purchase something that I can make with things from my scrap wood bin. As a result, I am able to share with you how to make farmhouse style wooden stars!
One of the things that I have been meaning to get to on my long list of to-do items is to move my son out of his twin sized bed into a queen size. He has really put on a growth spurt over the past few years, and that twin bed makes me think of Snow White trying to get comfortable in one of the dwarfs’ beds. Thank goodness he didn’t want anything too extravagant! He was more than pleased with this easy DIY modern platform bed.
