If you haven’t yet heard of the latest, new invention in night lights, you have got to see these. I have to say that I absolutely love this product. I ordered just a few to start with, but after seeing how they work, I immediately went back for more. They are  safe, automatic, night lights that camouflages themselves as outlet covers.

These outlet covers are a product made by SnapPower, and come in both the standard (round) outlet covers, as well as their decor (rectangular) version. They put out just enough light to serve as a night light, and are perfect for any area where you might wish to have one. I personally have installed them in my own bathroom, along the kitchen countertops, and down the hall near my boys’ bedrooms.

With these, I no longer need to turn on the bathroom light at night. I also do not need a light to get a drink of water from the kitchen. But, the biggest plus for me is that my son can see to make his way down the hall, should he need me in the middle of the night. Also, I no longer bump my toe into the base board of a very tricky corner leading into my bedroom.

So, lets look at how these night lights work. They have two connectors on either side of the outlet cover. These connectors are what powers the LED lights along the bottom of the plate.

To install the new cover, you simply unscrew the old one and slide the new one in its place. Now, I will tell you that mine did not slide on as easily as they show in the video (see below). I did have to finesse it a bit, but just a bit. It is very easy to install these, and I believe any one that can work a screw driver can accomplish it. (One thing to note – they will not work on most GFCI outlets –the kind with the test button. So, just make sure that your outlet is a regular old outlet).

Where to Buy…

These covers start at around $15 for the standard covers. However, I purchased half of mine through Amazon as a package deal, which was a bit cheaper. (especially if you are a Prime Member). The other half, I ordered direct from SnapPower. They both arrived in an acceptable time frame. (From Amazon in 2 days, and about 8 days from SnapPower).

The package deal through Amazon can be found here. (FYI: This is an affiliate link. That simply means that I receive a small compensation percentage from Amazon for all referral purchases).
